This painting is inspired by the abundant wildlife present at the Avon Gorge. Wildflowers such as Bristol Onion, Scabiosa and Speedwell flourish in this area. The Holly Blue, Green Veined White and Green Hairstreak butterflies are important visitors who can be found alongside Red Admiral and Painted Lady butterflies. Each species is monitored by the Friends of the Downs and Avon Gorge. This print evokes a feeling of a sunny Summer day. This view is from Durdham Downs looking up the Avon Gorge towards the Clifton Suspension Bridge. The original painting was created in gouache (plastic free). All prints are produced on FSC approved papers.

As the weather warms up so do the colours of the city. The Circus is looking magnificent as the warm honey tones of the Georgian architecture are highlighted by sunshine.
